Celebrate Summer with the Annual Garden Route Beach Festival
‘It’s almost that time of year again! This year, thanks to 8-ta, we will be seeing a bigger, better and even more exciting festival in town!’
The summer holidays are just around the corner now and there is a certain buzz of excitement that comes with spending a holiday at the seaside; early to rise, down to the beach for an early swim or surf, sand castles and ice creams, fun in the sun.
Well, come this December and the Garden Route is in for an added treat; the 3rd annual BEACH Festival at Buffalo Bay. Supported and sponsored by Knysna Tourism and the Knysna Municipality, the festival promises to be bigger and even more exciting this year. As is custom each year, we aim to grow and add more events onto the festivals repertoire – this year is no different.
Kicking off on the 16th December 2011 at Buffalo Bay main beach will, this year, see 8-ta bringing their beach tour to our neck of the woods (or corner of the bay as it were). 8-ta will be on an 8 location stop off tour in December and we are fortunate that they have chosen Knysna and Sedgefield as 2 of their main events.
“Buffalo Bay is the perfect beach for kids and families with its wide bay and safe swimming area and the idea behind the December Beach Festival is to provide a bit of extra fun n games on the beach for all ages and all walks” said BEACH Festival Organisers.
Connecting local residents, social development areas, holiday makers and international tourists, the festival embraces beach sport and sports development. Some of the great activities to look forward to this year include beach olympics, inflatable slides, games and competitions for the whole family.
The 8-ta BEACH Festival dates:
- Buffalo Bay Main Beach – 16th December 2011
- Myoli Beach, Sedgefield – 29 December 2011
- Promotional Give-aways on all Knysna and Sedgefield beaches from 16th Dec – 31 Dec 2011
